30th January,1933 Adolf Hitler legally comes to power and with a raised fist-The Revolutionary Salute - he gets on the good side of the allies. His acceptance speech: Before us lies Germany Within us Germany is stirring Behind us, all Germany is following With that he wins the allegiance of all Germans. In his book My Struggle his mission was to destroy France; to wipe out the humiliation of the Versailles treaty of 1919. Hitler at this time was thirst for revenge. A Woman in Berlin is an account of Russians raping women in Berlin. The writer says: It is better to have a Russian in your belly than an American in your head. Germany at the time had twice the population of France and hence demanded to be World Powers. On the one side, Germany had annexed Austria and were targeting Czechoslovakia which by French and English standards was an independent state. The clouds of war were gathering! The Jews were in concentration camps, Benito Mussolini - founder of Fascism strategised with Hitler at the Temple of Nazis. On the other hand Neville Chamberlain the conservative British Premier and the radical French premier Edouard Dalader wanted to savor the peace...so they accepted the unacceptable - they gave up Czechoslovakia in exchange for a solemn promise by Hitler to make no claims on another European territory.
