Thiruvathavur: Alagarkoil , Pazhamudir cholai Daily One Temple visits Rameshwaram The holy city of Rameshwaram also known as the ‘Varanasi of the South’ in Ramanathapuram district is an island paradise of golden sand, situated 164 kilometers south-east of Madurai. This pilgrim center has two famous temples namely Ramanathaswamy Temple and Kothanda Ramaswamy temple. Ramanathaswamy temple which is 264 meters in length and 200 meters in breadth is on the eastern side of the island, close to the sea. The temple is known for its long corridors with pillars having beautiful sculptures. It also has a big tower measuring to a height of 38.4 meters. The Kothanda Ramaswamy temple is situated about 3 kilometers from the extreme tip of the island. Rameshwaram is one of the major marine food centres in South India. அருள்மிகு ராமநாதசுவாமி திருக்கோயில், ராமேஸ்வரம் - 623 526, ராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டம். இங்கு சிவன் சுயம்பு மூர்த்தியாக அருள்பாலிக்கிறார். இந்தியாவில் உள்ள 12 ஜோதிர் லிங்கங்க தலங்களில் தமிழகத்தில் உள்ள ஒரே ஜோதிர் லிங்கதலம் இது. ராமர் வழிபட்ட தலம் என்பதால், சிவன் சன்னதியில் பெருமாளுக்குரிய தீர்த்தம் பிரசாதமாக தரப்படுகிறது. பதஞ்சலி முனிவர் முக்தியடைந்த தலம். அம்பாள் பக்தரான ராயர் செய்த உப்புலிங்கத்தை இப்போதும் பிரகாரத்தில், ராமநாதர் சன்னதிக்கு பின்புறம் காணலாம். உப்பின் சொரசொரப்பை அந்த லிங்கத்தைப் பார்த்தாலே உணர முடியும். 1212 தூண்கள்,690 அடி நீளம், 435 அடி அகலம் கொண்ட இக்கோயிலின் மூன்றாம் பிரகாரம்உலகப்புகழ் பெற்றது. மூலஸ்தானத்தில் ஆதிசங்கரர் பிரதிஷ்டை செய்த ஸ்படிக லிங்கத்திற்கு முதலில் பூஜை செய்து விட்டே ராமநாதருக்கு பூஜை செய்கின்றனர்.சிவனின் தேவாரப்பாடல் பெற்ற 274 சிவாலயங்களில் இது 198 வது தேவாரத்தலம் ஆகும். அம்மனின் 51 சக்தி பீடங்களில் இது சேது சக்தி பீடம் ஆகும். காலை 4 மணி முதல் 1 மணி வரை, மாலை 3 மணி முதல் இரவு 8.30 மணி வரை திறந்திருக்கும். இரட்டை விநாயகரை குழந்தை பாக்கியம் கிடைக்கவும், செல்வச் செழிப்புக்காகவும் வேண்டிக்கொள்கின்றனர்.நாகதோஷத்தால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள், அக்னி தீர்த்தக்கரையில் நாகர் பிரதிஷ்டை செய்து வேண்டிக் கொள்கிறார்கள். பிரார்த்தனை நிறைவேறியதும் சுவாமி, அம்பாளுக்கு வஸ்திரம் அணிவித்து நேர்த்திக்கடன் நிறைவேற்றுகின்றனர்.
