35 officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP) along with their dependents have been de-quarantined. The ceremony which took place at the formerly quarantined Police Barrack on Friday, September 26, 2014, saw several high profile persons in attendance. Mrs. Mai B. Urey, CEO of U-Foundation was the star of the show as she commanded unceasing commendations from Col. Chris Massaquoi, Inspector General (IG) of the Liberia National Police for her pivotal humanitarian role played during the period that the LNP Barrack was quarantined. The IG emphasized that Mai B. Urey, upon hearing of his resolve to quarantine the facility moved in immediately with medical and food supplies; thus showing off the responsive flexes of U-Foundation. “We are all here today rejoicing, thanks to Mai Urey for her immediate response to the crisis that could have worsened. It was so quick that we could not ready our personal resources to arrest the situation until further help came,” Col. Massaquoi appreciatively spoke of U-Foundation’s CEO. The Chief Executive Officer of Kailando Group of Companies, George Kailando, received praise for his partnership with U-Foundation in ensuring that the officers and their dependents were not short of any medical or food supply. For her part, Mrs. Urey was overwhelmed with joy seeing the number of women and children that were snatched from the uncompromising hands of Ebola. “I did not realize that we had done this much until I saw the faces of these women and children,” Mrs. Urey enthused. “You don’t want to come down with Ebola before starting treatment. The virus is devastating and no one needs to experience such pain. So, early submission for treatment is the best one could ever do for him/ herself and the entire country as we all fight to make Liberia Ebola-free,” the CEO of U-Foundation used the occasion to plead with Liberians to report early for treatment at the slightest showing of the virus. “With the growing crime rate in the event our fight to eradicate Ebola out of Liberia, we need every member of our police force to be healthy and ready to defend lives and properties,” Mrs. Furthered recounting the importance of the Liberian National Police. On a separate occasion, yesterday at the Corina Hotel in Sinkor, Monrovia, U-Foundation also earned recognition at the “Partners’ Meeting” for huge success won through its homecare service approach in curbing spread of the deadly EVD. Meanwhile, the foundation was also tipped to present its strategies and full success story during the next Partners’ Meeting this week. At the same time, an invitation was extended to U-Foundation to attend the Social Mobilization Committee’s meeting when the homecare approach, crafted and successfully being executed by the foundation will be high on the agenda.
