4 WAYS TO REFINE YOUR TALENTS FOR EXCELLENCE. One of the major ways to position your talent for profit making is to get it thoroughly refined. To refine a talent means to develop and improve it so it becomes distinctive. Talents to a large extent can be compared to gold and crude oil. These resources have little value in their raw state. For gold to be appreciated, it has to go through a process of refining so as to expose its beauty, value and purity. As valuable as crude oil is, it too must be refined from a crude form before it could become useful and valuable. Just as it is with gold and crude oil, so also it is with talent. This has to do with the acquisition of relevant and applicable knowledge. Knowledge gives your talent a developmental and productive edge.
