45 yrs ago today, Doug and I began building a life together. We had no idea what this life would look like but little by little, we added to the foundation. The first stone we laid was our faith in God. At times the stones we chose were cracked and jagged. Sometimes we poured on sand which disappeared among the rocks, sifting down into the ground; it added nothing to the building that was our life. Slowly we learned how to build a solid place for our children to be nurtured and for us to become a family. Through sunshine, wind and rain our life stood firm because of the first rock we chose to build upon. Storms and heartbreaking tragedies tried to tear us apart, but we held fast. Our love is deeper than ever and our faith holds us together. Thank you, Father God, for bringing us together and guiding us as the building continues.
