46 million Americans are listed as being in poverty, a 55 year high. The United States has more children in poverty than any other industrialize nation in the World per capita. One out of every seven people in the U.S. are labeled as being in poverty. Shameful Washington, shameful. We have the worst political system now than ever before. $2.1 billion dollars of Lobbyist money hits our elected officials pockets. This system is nowhere close to what our founding fathers foreseen. Greed and Wall St run our country now. The middle class will kept diminishing until we become a 2-class society, the rich, and the low-wage workers that work for them. A global economy has also been a product of the downfall of the average American. Wall St outsources labor overseas to slave laborers to help their profits. Technology has help in the losing of American jobs. Why pay an Auto Worker $30/hour when a computer can do the work. The majority of new jobs in the U.S. are low-paying retail jobs. College graduates, most of them tens of thousands in debt, are going into minimum wage jobs out of simple necessity. Scary times we live in.
