4TH MARCH THE GREATEST INVESTMENT OF THIS PRESENT AGE. Mark 10:28-31 King James Version (KJV) 28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. 29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospels, 30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. 31 But many that are first shall be last; and the last first. Blessed be God for his word and for his light. For what are words without understanding, and how can one understand if its not clearly explained. ONCE UPON A TIME, a great and righteous ancestor of ours was told to leave his family and fields and go to a land the Lord will REVEAL. And surely we remember the blessings which came with the obedience exerted by this great ancestor of ours. Today we are being told the same by The same Lord. Now leaving our Family is not deserting them or forgetting about them. Just like its said about marriage that man must leave his father and mother and get united unto his wife, it doesnt mean we forget about them. Arent they still the ones who present us to the Altar, still yet cater for our kids or give us parental advice when we are married? It simply means where we focus our energy the most, were we concentrate our thoughts. Of course we can also leave our family and focus on the casinos, or the flashy lights. This clearly explains not just focus, but focus and vision. Here we are called to a noble vision, the one of the kingdom, of spreading the Gospel. In the Good News version, it highlights fields which could be translated to inheritance or possessions. which of course doesnt also mean we should leave our properties unattended to and follow God. Remember the rich man whom The Lord asked to sell off his wealth and follow him which unfortunately he couldnt?. :( We are asked to $INVEST in the kingdom, to spend our time, energy and resource for the advancement of the Kingdom, conceive great ideas for God. Remember God loved Enoch, the word says he was a great artificer, which means an inventor. Spend our time enriching Gods universe, revealing the richness of his Glory. Even though investing will seem like we are last, or will make us last in the BUSINESS race, Yet the promises are not only focus in the life to come,,but also IN THIS LIFE, because Our Lord talks about two time frames, THIS PRESENT AGE... THE ETERNAL AGE.. so we must realise that INVESTING in the kingdom reaps benefits in this age. So it is clear there are benefits for this age and for the age to come. I will encourage you to read this scripture from the Goodnews version also. Read between many versions to have a full understanding since we know translating sometimes unconsciously shield the vintage essence of things. MAY GRACE AND PEACE BE YOURS IN FULL MEASURE THROUGH YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF GOD AND OF JESUS OUR LORD.
