5 April 2014. Mum, Jen, turns 80! The last 4 months have been so tough but in particular the last few weeks. A lady with so much dignity, such incredible fortitude and strength and the most amazing capacity to help others. One memory stands strong....when I was a teenager, we were shaking a collection tin for the *home for unmarried mothers and I asked mum why she did this. She told me that one must always support those charities one may need one day!!. Fortunately I was a model daughter and we never needed that one! Mum has some major challenges currently and I wish I was home....however Im not, so allow me to pay tribute to an incredible woman, mother and wife. Mum was a great teacher... at school, on the tennis court and at home. We all have a passion for cooking however I dont do much due to our lifestyle. My children would be amazed if they knew actually what I can create in the kitchen!!! I know it wasnt like I was the perfect daughter, in fact I was an awful teen...however, I know that no matter what, I was, and am, loved. If I can give my children one gift, it is the gift of them knowing that no matter what, they are loved more than anything else. That is the gift I have been given from mum and dad. I know I am loved, no matter what. Wish I was there with you mum and dad. Love you ... and thanks! Everything I am, every value and every thing I stand for is based on what you taught me. I am blessed for being your daughter. Thank you. Love you. Happy 80th birthday mumxx
