5 Day Music Challenge- thanks to Janine Gordon McNicholl Webster for putting me up to it! Normally I dont participate in these sorts of things... but here goes! For the next 5 days I will post music that has had some influence on my life. Each day, I will also nominate one person to take the 5 Day Music Challenge. As much as some people claim its overplayed, one of my all time favourite pieces in the wind ensemble/concert band rep is Gustav Holsts Second Suite for Military Band in F. Ive been lucky enough to play it with a variety of ensembles, and conduct it a few time, and it never fails to move me in some way. Im going to nominate Allan Thorpe...but if hes not on Facebook that much Ill also nominate Patti Thorpe. The two of them have both been large influences on my musical past, and hey...
