Nightclubs face garda check after queue panic A Student teacher Niamh Cannon from Letterkenny, Co Donegal, is recovering in hospital after being traumatised by her ordeal. She was in a crowd of around 1,500 students attempting to gain access to the popular Copper Face Jacks club shortly before midnight on Monday night. An investigation into the incident is now being carried out by gardai, who will examine the events that led up to the girls being injured and look at the queuing arrangements outside Coppers and similar nightclubs. Families hit as VHI pushes up prices yet again VHI Healthcare is to announce today that its plans are to go up by an average of 3pc from March 1. Some plans will go up by 6pc. The highest premium rises will be on the VHIs Health Plus Access, which used to be called Plan B. It is going up by 6pc.
