5 days gone of the training camp and I still feeling great, - TopicsExpress

5 days gone of the training camp and I still feeling great, although a bit tired as well. It has been a tough start, but I have managed to give 100% in all training sessions and with no injury set-backs, so Im very happy! Today we had a physically quite hard 2-hour session in the morning with some footwork and a lot of 2vs1 and 1vs1 drills with focus on both speed and defence/withstanding pressure. This was followed up by a 1,5 hour session doing weights in the afternoon, but there was also a fair bit of chatting with other athletes, so I probably could have done it in a little more than an hour if I wanted to. The video is of the last exercise I have in my weights program. It has a lot of great benefits, but is also extremely tough. For me its the best way to keep the chronic pain I have in my knees down. This is why Im doing it quite slow and not explosive as some of you might prefer if you ever do this exercise. Apart from helping with my knee pain its also very useful for power stamina. Not sure if thats the right term, but I mean it helps me being able to retain power in my legs longer. The exercise should of course be done for both legs and can also be done with both legs working at the same time. I did 2 sets of 15 reps with 90kg today. The closer we get to the Worlds the fewer reps Ill do. If you think about trying it yourself its important to consult a professional physical trainer first. Supervision is important for any kind of weight training, for your own safety. All theres left for me this week is a 2-hour badminton session tomorrow morning and a 30-40 minute recovery work-out on Sunday. Looking forward to relax and recover as much as possible after the session tomorrow. Next week will be crazy. Insane actually... Ill try to give you an update at some point during the week on how much training Ill have to for the full week. /HK
