Great wins today. 2) Alabama is for real. Since being torched in College Station, the Tide have given up a total of 16 points in 5 games, including 2 shutouts. One side stat- McCarron has as many BCS trophies as he does losses. Love or hate the Tide, who knows if well see that again. 3) To the in-state rival, Auburn, great game. I gave you zero chance and you proved me wrong. On that note, it was nice to see one fourth quarter comeback not happen for Johnny. The Iron Bowl is looking better and better. 4) FSU is legit. I dont want this to sound like Im trashing Clemson, who I will give credit for the grandest entrance into the stadium, but it was men vs boys. I felt like a kid back in the 90s watching the old FSU. Back then they steamrolled any would be opponent on a grand stage. Ask Mack Brown back when he was at UNC. Imagine a playoff right now with Bama, Oregon, FSU & someone else. Wow. 5) I absolutely love Mark Richt as a person. He stands for all that is good in this world. At some point, though, the break through had to happen. UGA has top 5 recruiting classes year in and year out. Even with the injuries, they should be able to out-talent Vandy. When youre a top tier coach at a top tier university making top tier money, you have to deliver top tier results. I bet Kirby would come home. Bonus) The targeting rule is the most horrid epidemic to hit college football of all time. You could make the argument it finally cost a team a game. (UGA) UGA gets off the field on 4th down, its a different ballgame. That said, for the NCAA success is measured by revenue. As long as that stays up, so does the rule.
