5 thirty am........rise and shine! Not since I was in the military has my alarm , my internal clock been set to wake me up so early. Well, there was an occasional fishing trip and a time or two when a number of large yard sales were about to get underway and there it is the crack of dawn first come first serve. But this day finds me about to journey 75 miles round trip once again on my scooter with a 180 ft of spooled measuring tape and launching out of here by 7 am in route to my new property and purchase. The front door needs measuring.........the bathroom...the kitchen ........the carport which is to become a screened in porch after I mix and pour a concrete floor...as well as the measurements exact of the outside deck to be built (roughly 12x16 ft) and last but not least the picture window in the living room which will become an Anderson bow window. (crosses fingers.............) Oh, and the property itself needs measuring a rough survey into the woods and yon. You betcha I am wearing my snake boots and totting a 22 caliber snake shot revolver. I know which ones if any I happen upon which will not survive the encounter, Copperheads and Cottonmouths..black snakes, red bellies and chicken snakes will go unscathed. One strike from either a copperhead or cottonmouth and either Apollo or I can go into a cardiac arrest in 15 minutes. No thanks.
