5 year old Chewy is getting a bad deal here. He has been rated NH only--and I agree that he should be rehomed to someone who does not have young children, and someone who is dog savvy around small dogs. Chewy actually did fairly well on his SAFER, but read this: "Chewy shows social behavior towards the assessor: he will freely approach, jump up and initiate petting but at any moment (for unknown reason) he can stiffen, give hard eyes, show teeth and growl." My rescue dog will do this with strangers. It is not at all unpredictable. What is unpredictale to these dogs is someone reaching for them. My dog will try and climb on someone to check them out. Since he is nervous and unsure, I handle him with a leash. Please read all about Chewy and then share this little guy, because he will die tomorrow without help.
