50 years ago..was 7 years old in the second grade with Mrs Minas class. The silly looking phone rang in the back of class, she answered and started to cry. We bowed out heads and prayed, and I remember and I remember Jerry Rubacky always sitting behind me. We were dismissed and I remember going home and my mother was crying, and my sister Barbara was crying because my mother was crying. At the age of 7 years old, the event of death was ingrained in my mind...How could this had happened. The country shut down for a few days and the funeral of JFK was embossed in my mind. I was so sad that Mrs Kennedy and her children had lost their Dad, I wrote her a letter ....I received a response from Mrs Kennedy, thanking me for my letter and a beautiful picture of the family. I was 7 years old.....
