#508: Im an Atheist. This doesnt mean that I reject God. It means I find the evidence for Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and all other World religions Ive examined thus far to lead me to the conclusion that any of those beliefs systems are NOT the way the Universe works. Ive studied the Universe in depth through astronomy and love it intensely, even though I admit I dont understand any of it. Im a perfectly moral person. I volunteer a LOT for my community and love helping others. In North Texas Im always told that Im going to go to Hell because Im rejecting God. Ive been discriminated and treated like crap by my Christian friends. Many baptists, nondenominational and catholics have treated me like I dont deserve to live once they figure out that I dont have the same belief system they do. Ive been holding out for years and years trying to find a real Christian who loves their neighbor and does as the Bible says and doesnt discriminate or try to convert me. Id love to have a friend like that, but Ive never in my lifetime have met a person like that. Ive lost relationships, friends, teachers, and many other important people because they feel they cant have intimate ties with a non-believer. I have read the Bible in-depth and read it from time to time. Im so tired of Christians and Catholics treating me like shit. I want to meet respectful Christians, because I believe that there are plenty out there, that I just havent met. Ive been waiting to be proved wrong. Im sorry to sound so sad, but Im crying right now because my ex decided to treat me this way, and changed overtime slowly when they found out I was Atheist. Im not looking to be converted, nor Im I looking to bash on people, Im looking to find a kind soul that I can befriend or even go out with that is either open-minded and Religious or is Atheist/Agnostic. The more I meet Christians that discriminate me, the more I feel negatively towards Christians. Will somebody help me break this cycle of discrimination and prove that believers and non-believers can get along?
