52 years ago Christine Marie Haisten (my mom) was born. She was a beautiful person inside and out, and she was my very best friend. She was taken from this earth way too early, and I still miss her every day. However, because today is her birthday I will not focus on the fact that she is not here, instead I will celebrate her life, and how she touched mine... today I will remember the little things that I miss about her; like how she would sometimes curse when she sneezed, or rock out to Space Jam in the car. I also remember how she would fart loudly in public and blame it on me. lol I remember watching her put on her makeup in the mornings, or raise her hands to a worship song she heard on the radio (even if she was driving). I miss those little things... I miss her smile, and her amazing laugh... I will always remember how good of a hugger she was, and how soft her hands were when she would run her fingers through my hair... I remember how comforting it was for her to sing me to sleep when I had had a bad day, and crawling into her bed in the middle of the night when I had a nightmare... I remember staying up WAY past my bedtime to play Donkey Kong & Super Mario Brothers with her lol. I remember our long phone conversations when I was in the military, it seems like wed stay up talking for hours about anything and everything. I miss being able to call her and tell her about my day but most of all, i just miss her. Today Im asking for you to help me celebrate my moms birthday. If you could share your favorite memory of my mom it would really mean a lot to me... For those of you who are so fortunate to still have your mom, I ask that you will help me celebrate my moms birthday by giving your mom a hug and a kiss and telling them theyre loved and how much they really mean to you. Life is made up of a lot of big moments, but youll learn that its the little things you miss the most. My mom was a great woman, with a beautiful soul, and I am very blessed to have had her in my life, even if her life was cut short. Happy birthday Mom... I love you
