529 Egyptians Sentenced to Death in the Killing of One Police Officer The U.S. backed military dictatorship in Egypt has sentenced 529 Egyptians to death in the killing of one police officer. The United States has been sending military aid to the extremely repressive military dictatorships of Egypt for decades. Since the recent coup detate, Obama has continued that aid illegally despite the fact that, by U.S. law, it is illegal for presidents to send military aid to countries where elected governments have been overthrown in coups. Similarly, Obama is illegally sending aid to the fascist infested coup government of Ukraine. That government came to power in a U.S. backed and funded coup that overthrew the elected president of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych. In contrast to the U.S. backed military dictatorship in Egypt, President Yanukovych ordered extreme restraint, to a fault, in dealing with the paid rioters in the streets of Kiev who killed and injured police with guns, Molotov cocktails, missiles, bricks, and clubs. As opposed to the mass executions of the U.S. backed dictatorship in Egypt, twice President Yanukovych offered amnesty to the murderous rioters who were in prison. He did this in exchange for agreements instead of cracking down on protesters in the streets with the force necessary. Despite the lies of western politicians and the western corporate media, strong evidence confirms that the shootings of both police and protesters by sniper fire just prior to the February coup in Kiev were by the U.S. and EU backed protesters that came to power in the coup. Most of the people sentenced to death in Egypt today were arrested without charges and they have now been put through the meat grinder of a rapid mass trial. As I warned at the beginning of the Egyptian military coup, it fails to address the deep and profound problems faced by the Egyptian working class and instead is part of the problem.
