55 Cancri E is a planet that orbits the distant star 55 Cancri A, - TopicsExpress

55 Cancri E is a planet that orbits the distant star 55 Cancri A, approximately 41 light years from Earth (241,023,647,191,184 miles away). It is twice the size of Earth and almost eight times heavier. You may be wondering why this has any relevancy - it doesnt. Even if humans could travel at the speed of light it would take a life time to get there and back. However, it should interest you because 55 Cancri E is comprised mostly of diamonds. The planets core is comprised entirely of solid diamond, whilst the rest of the planet is a mixture of silicates and large deposits of diamonds. So in the event that NASAs experimental warp drive program finds success, grab a drill and a bucket, because thats a lot of diamond.
