#5865 EDUCATED MUSIC LOVER :3 After so many days i have came across this esteemed guwatians page and read atleast 20-25 confessions in a row, out of it a confession about Zubeen fickle my mind. He sang some copy-righted songs of Late Jayanta Hazarika and made a album of it. We all know, its all over the news channel and newspapers. But i am really surprised to see many GMC followers are blindly supporting Zubeen for this illegal act of him. Do you know what is Copyright? Folks let me tell you that Copyright is a legal right created by the law of a country, that grants the creator of an original work exclusive rights to its use and distribution, with the intention of enabling the creator to receive compensation for their intellectual effort. You just cannot sung any random song and make a copy out of it. Any singer or artist know this law. And what Zubeen did is not acceptable at all. He already made the album without getting the permission to recreate those legendary songs and now creating these unnecessary rifts. Do you know this can create havoc in the music industry. If such great figure like Zubeen start doing this then think about the struggling artists. It will enable them to recreate anyones song, without buying the copyrights of it and make a good money out of it and then may be in future our child will be like Hey did you heard Mur Minoti By Palash Gogoi... Ohh Palash is a legend. Likewise the original creator will be lost in the middle of some history pages. Its our typical mind you know! For an instance, Do you know how many organizations, people are fighting for the copyrights hand over of all the Bhupen Hazarikas songs? Bhupen Das biological son is entitle to get those copyrights but still many are fighting against it. Well, this dabang attitude of Zubeen can never represent our culture. If he would have really so concerned about the losing touch of such legendary songs then he could have recreate those songs in advanced digital form, keeping the original Jayanta Hazarikas voice intact. Recreating someones song by keeping the original voice intact also does require legal permission from the creator and you have to keep in mind that you are doing this work just for the sake of bringing the old melodies into a new generation. It cannot be made for any self compenations. Its not like that i hate him nethier am i a sadist. No doubt he has done a lot for our culture through the medium of music but sometimes he cross limits which he tend to do very often lately. As an educated person i can never support him in such law breaking act of him. From a genuine music lover doesn’t matter its Zubeen or Papon or Jayanta da or Bhupen Da... #JohnyBlaze: Confessor do you have a problem with zubeen or his way of singing, composing & creating songs...I have heard the word copyright and trust me many of us including zubeen & other singers did too with its actual meaning. Now if you could explain me how many people from todays generation even listen to these legendary voices forget about knowing their names. Names like Lt. Jayanta Hazarika, Pulak Benarzi, Dipali Borthakur etc the list goes endless. In this fast changing 21st century i am afraid their songs are in a verge of extinction and one day these legends will loose their identity in the heart of time, for their voices are now been left over for receiving royalty or so. Be it Zubeen, Angaraag or any other singer, if someone is tributing their songs, i dont see where is the fault or it is any sort of crime, rather i would say these people are helping to revive those Legends once again and also introducing to new generation to know who they actually were. Also this step would actually help in keeping those Legends alive for decades to come. Their songs would be heard once again. May be i am not that educated like you buddy but all i know these legends should live for another 1000 yrs and more. Lastly, I want you to stop being a blockade if something is happening for good and try to see the positive side of everything rather finding faults and becoming a moral police...
