#5889 In regards to the post about the new Black Bear publication at Missouri State: White people hold on to your hats, because what Im about to tell you is shocking!! Not everything on this planet is about you. A white person receives privileges. White people dont have to worry about a cab passing them late at night, a white person doesnt have to worry about BEING SHOT when the police stop them. But black youth in St. Louis do, in Ferguson they do. Racism is very real but people dont want to look it in the face. Its unsightly, they would rather ignore it, insisting that their tailgates not be interrupted and a publication AIMED AT BLACK YOUTH on our campus change its name. Well, tough shit. These young citizens writing this publication are not going to tip toe around issues for the feelings of the majority because thats whats been done for the majority since the begining. Biologically were all the same with the same roots. If there is no justice for one race there is no real justice for all. #NoJusticeNoPeace My name is Emily Doll and I am unaffiliated with the Black Bear publication, but I am excited for the publication and plan to support it. Posting this statement this way was the best way to get the most visibility.
