5PM NEWS UPDATE WITH Orange The woman Member of Parliament Yumbe district, Oleru Huda has been involved in a deadly road accident from Nakasongola district. Police have said that oleru who was driving a car registration number UAU 505A attempted to overtake a lorry on the same route, but moments later, failed to control the car thus swerving off the road. The lawmaker sustained serious injuries on her head and other body parts. Police is still trying to investigate circumstances under which the legislator’s car developed a brake failure immediately after the MP overtook the lorry. According to our exclusive sources, the police have postponed the auctioning of the two piglets that were smuggled into Parliament two weeks ago. According to deputy police force spokesperson, Polly Namaye said they were following the advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Police said that the piglets smuggled into Parliament by the two youth now on remand in Luzira Prison until July 4, had become a liability with feeding costs going up. The piglets were in the custody of Police Special Investigations Division (SID) in Kireka but were transferred to a destination yet to be identified. A neighbor of Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe has been fined $50 or 30 days in jail for letting his dogs hunt on the 90 year-old leader’s compound. Michael Pazarangu was accused of allowing his dogs to roam freely into President Mugabe’s private residence in Harare where they killed a bush buck last year. He was convicted after pleading guilty to the offence before a Harare magistrate. The old presiding magistrate, Vongai Muchuchuti said that the offence was not serious but admitted that he had been negligent. Nicolas Sarkozy became the first former French president to be taken into formal custody as he was detained for questioning in an influence-peddling probe. Mr Sarkozy turned himself in, arriving at a police station in the western Paris suburb of Nanterre around 8:00 am in a black saloon car with tinted windows. He must then be brought before a judge to be charged or be released. The detention of Mr Sarkozy, a right-winger who led France from 2007 to 2012, comes a day after investigators took his longtime lawyer Thierry Herzog and two magistrates into custody.
