6.00a.m Main News On Radio Delta Melody FM 88.6, by Atsenuwa Omaseye The Headlines: -The State Government has restated its commitment towards the fight against blindness and other Health issues faced by Deltans, the Delta State Governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan stated dis in a key note address at the flag off of the Eye Sight Restoration Intervention Scheme organized by the Delta State Ministry of Health in collaboration with the MTN foundation at the Central Hospital Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area. Dr Uduaghan represented by the Commissioner for Health Dr.Joseph Otumara said the right to sight is a free gift from God, saying it is indispensable in achieving ones aspirations in life -Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has built and donated Hostels to five Universities in the Nigera Delta regions as part of its contribution to the Development of the Education sector. Speaking at the Commissioning of 176 Rooms Hostel at Delta State University Abraka the Commissioner representing Delta State on the Board of NDDC Chief Solomon Ogba said the Commission will continue to provide infrastructure that will benefit the Niger Delta regions, Chief Ogba listed the benefiting Universities in the NDDC Hostels donation to include Imo State University, Federal University of Technology Owerri, River State University of Science and Technology, Delta State University Abraka and University of Benin in Edo State. He disclosed that six Hostels are almost being completed out of the 219 Hostels project in Universities and Polytechnics in the 9 Niger Delta Regions -A one week traning workshop for intending operators of the newly acquired automated Heavy Duty High Capacity tow trucks by the State Government has opened in Asaba the State Capital. The State Commissioner for Transport Hon. Ben Igbakpa at the ceremony restated Government commitment to ensuring free flow of traffic at all times, the two tow trucks were among the 6 trucks in the State Government efforts at making the Roads free from all forms of broken down vehicles, indiscriminate parking and unnecessary traffic across the State -The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Elder Godsday Orubebe has charged people affected during the recent attack on Communities in Warri North Local Government Area to remain calm as Government is doing every thing possible to alleviate their plight, the Minister gave the charge at Koko Headquarters of Warri North Council Area while presenting relief materials to some victims of the attack
