6 days belongs to you, but the 7th day (one day among the seven - TopicsExpress

6 days belongs to you, but the 7th day (one day among the seven days) belongs to the LORD. While it is true that every day is of the LORD, we should not negate the fact that God hallowed one day among the seven as a day of rest, day of worship, day of consecrating our lives to the Lord. We dont believe that Sabbath should always be on Saturday, for the week of creation cannot be identified which is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The Bible never mentioned that God resteth on Saturday, but it said, He resteth on the seventh day. Sabbath means day of rest. While the Mosaic Law appointed Saturday to be their Sabbath in their calendar, it is not really about what name of day that is important. What is important is that atleast one day among the seven days let us hollow to be a day of rest. The day of rest is a gift from the Lord. Its very hard to work 24/7 without a rest. We rest during night time. Without rest, our souls will be haggard and weary. The apostles chosen the First day of the week to be the time of their gathering. It was Sunday according to our calendar. Though the Apostles were Jews, the Church is not Jewish, neither Gentile, but composed of both. There is neither Jew nor Greek in Gods sight if the concern matter is the Church. The Church rather chosen the first day of the week instead of the seventh as their Sabbath, because they dont want to be identified with the tradition of the Scribes and Pharisees. Yes, most members of the early church were Jews by birth, but that doesnt mean everything Jewish are acceptable. Remember, Israel is Gods chosen nation, and He has an everlasting covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, but that doesnt mean their behavior were altogether acceptable in Gods eyes. In fact, they were the most stubborn people. While we, Pentecostals, love Israel and will support them always, we should not accept anything Jewish. The church is a spiritual body of Christ, the One whom Jews crucified. Therefore, the Church is 100% different from both Jews and Gentiles. Christ is a stumbling block to Jews, but He is also foolishness to Gentiles. But the Church is Christs body. And we, being part of Christs body, hence, Pentecostals, meaning, baptized in the Spirit and baptized by the Spirit into one body, the Church (1Cor.12:14), we have chosen the First day of the week to be our physical day of rest. However, we, Pentecostals believe that our refreshing and our rest is in the Holy Ghost (Isa.28:11-12), and since the kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness, PEACE, and joy in the Holy Ghost, we also believe that EVERY DAY is of the LORD, while Sunday is our actual day of rest and time of gathering with other saints to praise and worship the Lord, and the time when God imparts gifts and fruit of the Spirit to His church, LET US THEREFORE COME TO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD! AMEN! JESUS IS IN THE HOUSE! Our churchs Sunday Service starts at 4 PM today. God bless you all.
