$6 million dollar new Health and Community Training Centre for Peel Region Work has started on the proposed $6 million Training Centre in Mandurah for a new Challenger Institute of Technology Health Campus. This Centre will meet the growing demand for a skilled health and community services sector within the Peel Region. Turning the first sod of soil of the new addition to Challenger’s Peel campus was Training and Workforce Development Minister Kim Hames with Challenger CEO Liz Harris. Minister Hames said the Centre would accommodate up to 170 students across several courses. Regional Development Minister Hon Terry Redman MLA said Challenger Institute received $6 million for the construction of the new Centre as part of the Skills Training Initiative; to address skills shortages and develop high-quality training infrastructure throughout Western Australia. City of Mandurah Mayor Marina Vergone enthusiastically endorsed this development “having the Challenger Institute Training Centre at the PET Campus is invaluable to our community. It is great to see Royalties for Regions funding being injected into Mandurah to ensure that education in this Region is at a high level and opportunities are abundant”.
