659 new administrative units to be created in State ‘Coalition is strong and will complete its term’: Omar Abdullah =>Proving all the speculations incorrect, Omar Abdullah Saturday said that Coalition Government will complete its term without any any hiccup. He said that the present government will last till last day and there is perfect understanding between the Coalition partners. Addressing a press conference soon after the Cabinet Meeting in Banquet Hall Jammu Omar Abdullah said that Cabinet has approved the recommendations made by the CSC about creation of 659 administrative units in the state and both National Conference and Congress party will function smoothly to and there is every possibility that both the parties can cross every hurdles at ease. “The sign is that the coalition is strong and working well. We come up to the difficulties and the hurdles and it is possible that the we work together despite difficulties,” he said adding that both the parties have mandated their respective high commands to decide about the future alliance. “We will accept what they will decide,” Omar said. “But what we see right now is that this coalition will last to the last day.” He said. Talking about the creation of administrative units, Omar Abdullah said that the new creations will entail costs but the fast delivery of the services and unburdening the existing units would prove effective. Responding to a query, the Chief Minister said that, “the decision arrived today in the cabinet meeting is indicative of the fact that the NC, Congress coalition is working and strong. It also indicates that we can iron out differences and work together for the welfare of people”. However, keeping the pre-poll alliance option open, the Chief Minister said, “It is an indication that we can work together but it should not be confused with the pre-poll alliance”. Earlier, after the two hours of deliberations in Cabinet Meeting, the Cabinet that was presided by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah adopted the recommendations of the Cabinet Sub-Committee (CSC) in its full form. The cabinet discussed the recommendations threadbare and finally adopted the report that envisages creating 659 units. The cabinet also approved hike in bus fares across the board. A decision regarding the DA was also taken. The cabinet also agreed to the recommendation making existing panchayat’s co-terminus with the Patwar Halqas.
