69 years ago today, the greatest generation of Americans, got in boats and planes and crossed the English channel. They landed on the beaches of Normandy under extreme machine gun fire and artillery bombardments. They did not turn tail and run, they knew the mission they were on to fight the evil of tyranny was the highest calling. They fought and along the way discovered the true evils that can be unleashed when a tyrannical leader values one group of people over all others, and despite seeing those evils that would make pretty much every person turn away in horror, they kept pushing to take down that tyranny. Those brave men defeated that tyranny. Remember when you see a WW2 vet to thank them for looking pure evil in the face and not blinking but standing and fighting and defeating that evil. Let us all remember today the brave men that gave their lives on the beaches of Normandy (Omaha, Gold, Utah, Juno, and Sword).
