6th Annual Wernher Von Braun Memorial Symposium Student Poster Competition: CALL FOR ABSTRACTS UAHuntsville is hosting the 6th Annual Wernher Von Braun Memorial Symposium (astronautical.org/vonbraun) on October 7 - 10, 2013. The event is sponsored by the American Astronomical Society (AAS). The symposium will bring together several high-ranking government and corporate officials from the aerospace community. We are releasing this Call for Abstracts for student design and research projects for the Student Poster Competition, which will be a centerpiece of this year’s symposium. We encourage students to submit an abstract. Current and recently graduated undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to participate. The abstracts should include the title of the design or research project and a brief summary of the focus of the project (i.e., 250 words maximum) – the project should show some explicit tie to aerospace systems. The areas could include research in atmospheric science, earth observation, space life sciences, space health, aerospace systems engineering and design, astrophysics, optics, economics, business, policy, sustainability, history, international relations, education, STEM outreach initiatives, or related areas. The student is required to work with his or her faculty/researcher advisor, and the advisor should give guidance or advice, and must approve the poster for accuracy and content. The advisor’s name must appear in the Acknowledgements section of the poster. More information can be found at vbsposters.org. The abstract and poster should also be submitted online at the website. Abstracts are due by Wednesday, September 4th. All submissions will be reviewed and the authors will be notified of acceptance by 5:00pm CDT Friday, September 6th. A poster template, and further instructions along with the schedule will be provided. The completed poster will be due by 5:00pm CDT Wednesday, September 25th. If you have any questions, contact Dr. Robert Griffin at [email protected] or Dave Cook at [email protected].
