6th Principe Francesco Maria Ruspoli Baroque Music and Musicological Studies International Competition THE WINNER OF THE 2014 BAROQUE VIOLIN COMPETITION IS AMANDINE SOLANO (France) Special Mention for ALEXEY FOKIN (Russia) The jury of the 6th Ruspoli Competition, composed by: ENRICO GATTI (President) - The Royal Conservatoire Den Haag, Conservatorio G.Verdi Milano JOHN HOLLOWAY - Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden EMILIO MORENO - Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya Barcelona FABIO BONIZZONI - The Royal Conservatoire Den Haag, Conservatorio G.Cantelli Novara LINDSAY KEMP - Lufthansa Festival of Baroque Music London after listening to the 6 final candidates coming from Japan, Australia, Poland, Armenia, France and Russia decided to give the first prize to the french violinist Amandine Solano, who performed in the final round: J.S.Bach - Ciacona from the 2nd Partita for solo violin A.Corelli - sonata op.V n.5 J.Herrando - Tocata III (especially edited for this competition) a Special Mention was given to the russian violinist Alexey Fokin, who joined the winner during the final concert Thanks to the patronage of the Ruspoli family - in the person of Donna Giada Ruspoli - young musicians from all around the world could experience an unforgettable weekend in a unique place full of history, art and emotions which - after having inspired Georg Friedrich Haendel about three centuries ago - welcomed and surrounded them with infinite suggestions
