7/30/2010. The day I learned my baby was a superhero. Braver than anyone Ive ever known. Stronger than men 5 times her size. The day she transformed from student into teacher. I wouldnt wish this damned disease on my worst enemy. Not everyone can become a diabadass like she has. The funny thing is, if you were to ask her what the worst part of her life is, what the hardest thing about being her is, she will probably tell you that we dont let her play x-box during the school week, that we dont have a swimming pool like Nana, that her brother has accidentally deleted her worlds in Minecraft, or that she cant go horseback riding everyday. It would probably be a few items down the list before she even mentioned diabetes. She is my daughter. She is my hero. She is a student, a sister, a horseback rider, an artist, an athlete, a young girl, a dog trainer, a friend, an inspiration. She is all of those things, and she does them with diabetes. And today is the 4th anniversary of her kicking diabetes ass.
