7:30 p.m., June 21, 2013 Evacuation and Donation information Evacuations Mandatory evacuations remain in place for portions of several communities along the river. There is a voluntary evacuation zone downtown that extends from 9 Avenue to the river and from Macdonald Bridge (into Inglewood) to 14 Street W. However, if you are in the voluntary evacuation zone, you have water and your house is dry and safe you may stay if it is safe to do so. The City is asking those who do not need to be in the downtown core to avoid it. Please restrict the downtown to local traffic only. The City of Calgary has several reception centres in place to assist displaced citizens, please do not set up independent relief centres. Thank you all for your generosity and putting citizens first. Citizens can be referred calgarycitynews for a listing of reception centres. Monetary donations can be made to Red Cross 1-800-418-1111or at redcross.ca. Donations The City appreciates the outpouring of donations from Calgarians. However, all reception centres have established food supplies.
