7 days now: The death countdown by days before these animals are sold at auction and trucked off to the slaughter house. Wagner Farm Horrors Belied By Bucolic Facade: The many horrors of Wagner Farm animal-related programming outcomes connected to this taxpayer purchased and funded facility. Wagner Farm and their Glenview Clovers 4H club have these animals scheduled to be sold to auction and ultimate death on July 26. Numbered and slated to die - the 9 pigs and 14 lambs (there were 15, but one died at Wagner Farm on June 14) of the taxpayer purchased and funded Wagner Farm, Glenview, IL, and their Glenview Clovers 4H club, slated to be sold for slaughter at the Lake County (IL) Fair. 7 young cows have also now been brought in and based on prior comment by personnel in Wagner Farm management, these cows are apparently scheduled for sale to auction also. Wagner Farm has once again rejected collaborative efforts with Wagner Farm Rescue Fund and the offers of humane placement - and even above market value payment - for these animals offered by Wagner Farm Rescue Fund. The general public doesnt see the outcomes past the bucolic facade - animals referred to as market animals first exploited in a bucolic facade then being bolt-gunned in the head which Wagner Farm has acknowledged is how these animals are killed and that they dont find this to be inhumane. Of course, the bolt-gunning - which repeated documentation and scrutiny of the slaughter house industry refutes their supporters claims of not being inhumane - is done off-site at the hands of others after these animals are sold to auction and slaughter - in keeping with Wagner Farms bucolic facade of wholesome family-friendly fun and child education. What about when these animals are just stunned and do not immediately die or are meant to immediately die - and additional attempts have to be made to kill them, including other kinds of attempts such as in the following video? Here is further proof that humane slaughter is based on utter deception and manipulation of consumer concerns over animal welfare, designed to make people feel better about eating animals so that they will continue to support violent and exploitative animal-using industries. - Free From Harm Staff Writers: See more at: freefromharm.org/animal-cruelty-investigation/rare-footage-reveals-latest-humane-slaughter-lie-co2-gassing/#sthash.dhYo0Uw7.dpuf Please see the exposes of Wagner Farm by Robert Grillo and Free from Harm and national journalist James McWilliams: freefromharm.org/tag/wagner-farm/ james-mcwilliams/?s=wagner+farm&x=8&y=16 ___________________________ Numbered and slated to die - the 9 pigs and 14 lambs (there were 15, but one died at Wagner Farm on June 14) of the taxpayer purchased and funded Wagner Farm, Glenview, IL, and their Glenview Clovers 4H club, slated to be sold for slaughter at the Lake County (IL) Fair. 7 young cows have also now been brought in and based on prior comment by personnel in Wagner Farm management, these cows are apparently scheduled for sale to auction also. When a visitor to Wagner Farm just last August asked one of the Wagner Farm personnel at management level where all the young cows were that were just there the previous months, the answer given again included the word dumped - that they were dumped to auction along with the lambs and pigs. The word dumped has also been heard being used repeatedly by management to the public in conjunction with the Wagner Farm milking program as to what is done with the milk taken from their cows; most of the milk has been described as being dumped as Wagner Farm doesnt have pasteurization equipment. These now 23 lambs and pigs from this year (as one lamb recently died at Wagner Farm) are just some of the approximately 100+ animals (including project cows apparently) that Wagner Farm and their Glenview Clovers 4H have sold to auction for slaughter since 2010 - and not even counting prior years - all while rejecting humane outcomes and even above-market value payment for them offered by Wagner Farm Rescue Fund. And, will it remain now at 23 - Wagner Farm has already set a precedent for replacing one of their 4H animals who has died at Wagner Farm before they could sell the animal to slaughter - they have previously brought in replacement part pigs as a substitute for a 4H pig who died at Wagner Farm shortly after arrival. The replacement pigs were ultimately sent on just weeks later to auction at the Lake County (IL) Fair and ultimate slaughter. Wagner Farm has acknowledged that animals such as these, who they refer to as market animals (bred to be slaughtered and eaten) are slaughtered by being bolt-gunned to the head and they do not view this as inhumane - repeated detailed documentation of slaughter houses deaths that has been publicized globally demonstrates otherwise. What about when they are just stunned and do not immediately die or are meant to immediately die - and additional attempts have to be made to kill them, including other kinds of attempts such as in the following video? Here is further proof that humane slaughter is based on utter deception and manipulation of consumer concerns over animal welfare, designed to make people feel better about eating animals so that they will continue to support violent and exploitative animal-using industries. - Free From Harm Staff Writers: See more at: freefromharm.org/animal-cruelty-investigation/rare-footage-reveals-latest-humane-slaughter-lie-co2-gassing/#sthash.dhYo0Uw7.dpuf An IL 4H state representative has already confirmed that sale to slaughter is not even a requirement of 4H state programming. Sale to slaughter is apparently, based on comments by this representative and Wagner Farm management, just a preferred outcome at Wagner Farm while compassion - even at profit - is not. Wagner Farm has once again rejected collaborative efforts with Wagner Farm Rescue Fund and the offers of humane placement - and above market value payment - for these animals offered by Wagner Farm Rescue Fund. ***************************** The tax payer purchased and funded Wagner Farm telling the non-profit Wagner Farm Rescue Fund to just go to the slaughter auction sale and buy their 4H animals if we really want them is being equated by an increasing amount of the public as akin to municipalities who move voter polling sites miles away and then tell the public they can just buy a car to get there, get a ride, or take public transportation and/or walk to the polling site, etc., if they really want to vote. The detailed logistics involved in needing to make responsibly done advance placement and transport arrangement of animals essentially makes buying directly from the auction to be prohibitive, particularly for larger animals. This has been explained in detail to Wagner Farm repeatedly. As their continuing dismissive response is to just go to the slaughter auction - or that the animals can be taken to a meat market as a placement site as weve also been crassly told - this is also being equated by an increasing amount of the public as their calling for hoop jumping in a seeming intent to impede animal rescue and humane placement as this obviously does not support Wagner Farm goals. While voting is an actual right for much of the public, there are those who apparently find this to be undesirable and are seeking to have this right essentially revoked at least in practicality for the time being for a certain segment of the population. Whether the issue is of the impeding of voting rights for a segment of the population or the impeding by a tax payer funded facility of compassionate outcomes for animals sought by a non-profit organization, the core of either issue is increasingly becoming clear as that of obstructionism.
