70+ student-athletes and coaches arrived at Hidden Falls Regional - TopicsExpress

70+ student-athletes and coaches arrived at Hidden Falls Regional Park in Auburn on Saturday for team practice. Guaranteed chaos and disaster, right? Nope! In addition to three equestrian friends showing up to help in any way possible, Cycling Development coaches and ride leaders did a fantastic job preparing these teenage cyclists to properly and courteously share the trails with equestrians, hikers and runners alike. Dispersing into several smaller groups, the team spread out throughout the park and reported zero conflicts or issues. I roamed the park, chatting with every equestrian and hiker I came upon and they were all SUPER supportive of and impressed with the kids they encountered, expressing thanks that: A) these youngsters were doing something healthy in the outdoors, and B) we are teaching them to be good trail citizens. :D It was a great day and I thank Marie, Sue and Alicia for getting out there with us!
