70 years ago today the GI Bill was enacted into law. This legislation showed America’s commitment to our veterans and to affordable higher education. It created such a strong and skilled middle class that Americas economy was unrivaled throughout the 20th century. If our nation is going to remain an economic superpower in the 21st century, access to an affordable college education is a commitment we must continue today, and that starts with making sure our veterans have the opportunity to get an education and find a job.
