$75 million to be spent by the Administration as matching funds - TopicsExpress

$75 million to be spent by the Administration as matching funds for 50,000 body cameras for local law enforcement, in the wake of Ferguson. Thats one of the top news stories this morning. I seem to recall a certain charming, brilliant, personable (I could go on but wont) attorney who ran for the legislature in 2006 and had among his proposed legislation a plan to seek federal funding for patrol car cameras for all local law enforcement (body cameras werent on the scene yet really, but same concept). The idea was it would strengthen officers cases, would keep em honest, and would challenge suspects sometimes-different versions of the facts. I think he said some day we would have found them to be really useful and worthy of the expense. I just cant recall the name of that handsome, witty (oops, I guess I am going on, am I not?) lawyer in his 40s. Seems like he had a long last name. Help me out here...anyone recall his name? :)
