8/11/14 -ENC-Extreme Weather Team Extreme Weather Lab Daily Forecast- FLOOD ADVISORY, FLOOD WATCH and FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for parts of Eastern North Carolina. Please see Flood post for detailed information. -Current Radar- Current radar shows a cluster of showers between Lumberton and Fayetteville and a couple smaller clusters just off shore. Considerable clouds remain over much of Eastern North Carolina. A dry slot did slide south over Northern most Eastern North Carolina allowing some good views of the super moon. These clouds will fill back in throughout the night and morning. SYNOPSIS: A STATIONARY FRONT WILL REMAIN STALLED JUST TO THE SOUTH THROUGH MONDAY WITH WEAK AREAS OF LOW PRESSURE MOVING EAST ALONG IT. THE FRONT WILL LIFT NORTH AND GRADUALLY DISSIPATE ON TUESDAY. A COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH FROM THE NORTHWEST TUESDAY NIGHT AND CROSS THE REGION LATE WEDNESDAY AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT. HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD IN BEHIND THE FRONT LATE IN THE WEEK. -Extended There will be a chance of showers monday with chances getting better through out the day. A cold front has stalled to our south. This front will lift north before it dissipates. Areas of low pressure will move east along this front. This will still give us chance for rain Monday and Tuesday. Flooding will be possible due to all the heavy rain we had this week and last few weeks. Expected rains could amount to 1 to 4 more inches in local areas by Tuesday. Conditions will have to be monitored with the current forecast for large amounts of rain in the area. Temperatures should remain unseasonably cool for this time of year.
