8/2/14 A typical trip into the 5th ward. I fed more dogs than I can count and although MANY needed out and deserve out only 2 got their tickets today. My heart says that is great but my head says differently. I know full well the territory that comes with being a feeder in an area like this but some days its so overwhelming and the feelings of guilt for playing God out there and deciding who is sick enough, injured bad enough, too old, too young to survive etc. can wear on you mentally. I have NO idea why people still choose to breed and buy their dogs. I saw everything from a mangy purebred Frenchie to your typical mixes out there today. You know what they all need, committed fosters, adopters or rescue groups to get out of the hell they are living in. Here is an album of just tonight. Not all of the pictures are great especially when it got dark. The lucky two tonight were the older little white fluffy thing thanks once again to Shaggy Dog Rescue who took her and the hound mix puppy. If you are interested in helping any of the dogs in these photos let us know. Thanks šŸ’œ Alicia
