8/ 2/2013 First Day Family Fun Festival Friday: 4-7 PM Unit 10 School District Families: Free Admission The purpose of the First Day event is to strengthen the relationship between the Unit 10 School District and the City government, all while showcasing everything the City, schools, civic groups, and businesses have to offer residents of Collinsville. All participating organizations will have tables and interactive activities for families and children of all ages. Last year quote s event brought in over 3,000 people to visit all of the exciting booths which had activities ranging from face-painting and games, to hair cutting and school supply giveaways. Not to mention the Collinsville ambulance from the Fire Department and backhoe from the Street Department parked inside for the kids to play on! In addition to the fun, booths will also feature educational activities such as disaster preparedness, fitness and nutrition, health screenings, home and family safety, and even voter registration.
