8 years ago has passed. My father died on January 28th, 2014. I didnt know for the longest time how my father passed away until I received his death certificate. My father died from an acute cocaine overdose. Unfortunately, his addiction got the best of him and it affected so many of those in his life. There is so much I wish he was around for and to see me overcome in my life. I know my father was a good man and had such a great heart. However, it took his life. && forever has changed mine in both good and bad ways. Today is my fathers birthday. Today will be a hard day for me. I sit back and think of what his death did to me and how it affected me. I sit and remember times of him singing Just the Two of Us by Will Smith in my Uncle Bears truck. Today we can honor and share our stories/memories of those we have lost to addiction.
