8 years ago today - my life changed. I woke up on the November, 8, 2006 and answered the phone, my father who was on a trip seemed to be unresponsive. Little did I know that it was at that time my father had already passed. At 12:45 I could see my brother accompanied by my fathers close friends walking towards my school. Tears in his eyes, uncertainty in his step, fear in his voice, and a confidence as the eldest shadowed him. I will never forget the day, the hour, the minute - the cloudy skies, the warmest shivers, or the loudest silence i had ever experienced. It was on that day my childhood had come to an end, and I was to become a man. I was never perfect, in fact I caused my family much grief, and I still look to improve with every step I take. I ask forgiveness from everyone who was hurt through out my journey of finding myself and I hope to continue growing. I ask every to pray for my father, and my beloved uncle who had passed away on November 6 2014. May we all be reunited in paradise. I have been working on this poem for over a year....but I realized something....I cant finish this poem...cause I have not finished finding who I am.
