8 years ago today I came to the realization that I no longer wanted the life that I was living. And I then realized that it was the only life that I knew how to live. In order to begin to live a different way, and a different life, I was going to need help. I had not asked anyone for help in many, many years. Today I thank God that I was weak enough; broken enough; tired enough to ask for help on that day. And for everyone that has been there to help me along the way. Lying here in my hospital bed with 2 broken ankles on the mend, I am so very, very grateful for my recovery. Spiritually. Mentally. And physically. What an amazing 8 years it has been. Have a happy and sober 24 my dear, dear friends. I love you. #soberliving
