80 gracious days into AD 2014, #WordFromCurtis is: PRESENT SATISFACTION VERSUS LASTING JOY Make sure that no one is immoral or godless like Esau who traded his birthright as the firstborn for a single meal. - Hebrew 12:16 For Esau to exchange his birthright for a bowl of beans & ripe plantain is smth else. Many a believer often forget of their birthright as Christians (a birthright affirmed by d Holy Spirit in us) and they do forbidden things without a second thought. Esau sold his birthright cos: (a) he was VERY hungry & thought hed die (BIG DECEPTION) (b) the food was so appetizing (c) he had no patience to wait for his food to be cooked. Hence he gave out his birthright without a second thought. Ah! Look around today & ud see d Esau syndrome very much present in d Church: *most believers dont care to do d forbidden just to hv wht they yearn for *most believers easily fall for music, movies etc which draw humans closer to d flesh dan to d Spirit cos doz r so appealing to d senses *most believers hv judged Gods time as being too long cos they want QUICK ACTION This scripture in the book of Hebrews teaches us that such acts put us on Gods radar as IMMORAL & GODLESS PEOPLE. How can we make Heaven? The Spirit gets sad to see & hear believers spend time defending secular material at d expense of building up our spirits. Oh! When we allow our senses to rule our beings, we sadden the Holy Spirit in us. Abomination! What went wrong? How do we tell believers from d others? Oh oh oh.... Oh Lord, my God please save me from such godless & immoral ventures, and please help me develop a taste for only the things You prepare & sanction for me in Jesus name.
