According to PM Lamothe direct foreign investment far outstrips that amount, coming in at $250 million for this year alone. buswk.co/1w9YiMg Of the International communitys $7.5 Billion as of 2012, only $215 million was spent on permanent housing while $500 million was wasted on temporary transitional shelters meant to last a mere three years. By comparison the Government could have built two Cotes-de-Fer tourist resort projects for that money. People thought when they donated their money to Haiti or their tax dollars by way of their own Governments contributions that 5 years after the quake displaced Haitians would at least have decent shelter by now. Obviously they were deceived. Instead the International investment vultures have simply used the disaster to hurry through their own greedy plans while leaving Haitians out in the cold. These same vultures, comfortably hiding behind UN guns and a thick coat of Corporate media whitewash bullsh*t have the gall to label themselves as friends of Haiti.
