9/11 This is certainly a day in which we are reminded of the lives - TopicsExpress

9/11 This is certainly a day in which we are reminded of the lives that were lost in NYC, the innocent victims on flight 93 over PA, and those in DC. Sadly this marks not one day of many deaths but the start of a much greater loss of lives of both US citizens and citizens in countries that most of us have never visited. Countless mothers, children, elderly, all innocent of wishing more than a simple life and raising their family in safety. Also, my thoughts to those first responders who have survived but suffered ailments from being at the site. To all the people who lost loved ones and live with this pain. I ask that we may regard this day in remembrance of not only the ones who perished in the Twin towers that day but that we may take a moment to realize that ever since this day the deaths and pains have yet to cease. To furthermore consider the decisions we make and if they are for the right reasons. Are we safer today than we were before we liberated Iraq? Pakistan and Afghanistan have been havens for terrorist and warlords who have been just waiting for us to get tired and leave, so they can take control. Is there a better answer? Is it the job of the USA to unilaterally play Security guard of the world or is it time that we finally gave the UN Security council the tooth and power to truly over see the world affairs? We are about to enter another middle east conflict and I fear we only stand to gain more enemies as a unilateral force. I hope this time I am wrong. I wish peace to us all. Thank you Stephen Ford
