9/14/2013 Post Race Press Release: It was another exciting night of racing action at Lakeport Speedway with the excitement of the 11th Annual Marlene Baker Bomber Bash. It was the final race of the season at Lakeport for the traveling series of the Pro 4 Modifieds during the regular season. With the fastest lap in hot laps being the qualifying time of the Pro 4 Modifieds it was Ken Gifford that took the fast time with a 13.214. Johnny Barker won the trophy dash and Vincent Sanchez won the heat race. The pole was set by Curt Lewis with Bubba Allen on the outside pole for the main event. Lewis took the early lead but it was Codi Barba that was working his way up through the field. Barba took the lead away from Lewis on lap number 12. It was then a fight for the lead between Barba and fast qualifier Gifford. In the end it was Barba that took the win followed by Gifford, Barker and Lewis. In the Volvo Rent’s Mini Stock division it was another sweep by James Stillman with a fast time of 14.149, trophy dash win, heat race win and the main event win. In the Taco Bell Bomber Event 2013 Bomber Champion Mike Collins set the fast time with a 14.069. The trophy dash win going to the 2013 Rookie of the Year Trystan Mucci. Heat race wins went to Ron Duke Sr and Joey Brackett. With Duke and Brackett winning their heat races it put them on the front row for the main event. Duke took the early lead until lap number 15 when Travis Thorn took it from him. It was a battle between Thorn and Duke for a couple of laps until Collins came and made it a three way fight to the lead. Thorn and Collins made it a very excited battle for the lead for another 18 laps. Collins took the lead from Thorn on a restart of a yellow flag brought out by Trevor Abella and Trystan Mucci. In the end it was Collins that took the win followed by Duke, Klein and Brackett. Another exciting class of the night was the Gravitate Modifieds. Mike Neilson took the fast time with a 12.768. Trophy Dash was won by Alex Andrews with the heat race going to Sierra Furia. In the main event Furia and Steve Taylor were on the front row when the green flag dropped. Furia took the early lead over Taylor. The race was going well for Furia who was leading the whole thing until that white flag flew where contact was made between David Lyndall and Furia while Lyndall was trying to make a last lap pass for the lead. The two made contact sending Lyndall into the outside retaining wall with Furia going on to take her first main event win followed by Andrews, Nielsen and Potts. The racing action continued on Sunday at the Go-karts with the fast time in the 500 division going to Marissa Polizzi who is currently leading the division in points. She went on to win the heat race with the main event win and trophy dash win going to Ren Eberhart. The fast time in the Box Stock Division was set by Kimberley Sorrels, with the trophy dash and heat wins going to Kaiden Butler and the Main event win going to Daniel Whitley. In the Beg Box stock division is was Kylei Keown setting the fast time, with the dash win going to Audrey Portlock, the heat race win going to Tyler Shipley who also went on to take the main event win as well. The final point’s race for the Go-karts is this Friday night at Ukiah Speedway under the lights which is going to be an exciting night of racing action. Racing action continues this Friday night at Ukiah Speedway Go-Karts and then on Saturday with the Modifieds, Jammers, Extreme Outlaws and the BCRA Midgets and Vintage Midgets.
