9 September 2014: Russias newest orchestra is born! Made up of the Moscow Conservatorys best graduate students, it was just christened last night after its stupendous debut concert in Kaluga - Russian Youth Orchestra Vivat Kaluga!. In attendance were some of Russias most important people: Mayor of Kaluga, Anatoly Artomonov; Ambassador to the European Union, Vygaudas Ušackas; Advisor to the Cultural Ministry, Roman Skoriy; President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce, Alexander Shokhin and renowned Russian television personality Ernest Mackiavicius. My heartiest congratulations to the marvellous young talents and to their Artistic Director and Founder, Mikhail Simonyan, violin, on their incredible showing! Thank you for giving me this opportunity to partake with you in this historic event!
