9 weeks ago the sons of Strafford and Ash Grove suited up in the hopes of an undefeated season and Mid-Lakes Crown. Hours of practice and game films. 800 tackles, 600 offensive plays and 100 pts per game. 14 Mercy ruled Turbo clocks applied. Mothers and Fathers beaming with pride and awe of the talents displayed. A sea of red and an ocean of Maroon flooding the towns. Well, here we are 9 weeks later and the Indians and Pirates are on the door step of that goal. Both suit up at 8-0 and take the field tonite. All of those numbers mean nothing when the whistle blows. The best Quarterback and Runningback in the State will be on the field on opposite sides of the ball. I am in the unique position of living in my adopted town of Ash Grove and being the father of Jacob Wade. It is a situation I relish in. Logan Allred carries the standard for the Pirates. Without the 50+ boys suited up with them, we would not be talking about their crazy numbers. All the talk is over. Time to leave it all on the field. One team will walk away 9-0 though both will enter district play the following week as the same powerhouse they were 9 weeks ago. God, keep our sons safe, humble and gracious in victory or defeat. The parents, student body, teachers and fans respectful as all of SWMO and much of the State will be watching. Amen! All of that said, GO INDIANS!!!!!
