9 year old Mackenzie Furniss, who suffers from aggressive cancer neuroblastoma, danced to 1D hit ‘Live While We’re Young’ during her achemotherapy session. After seeing the video, Harry Styles tweeted her father Jason, saying: “Hi mate, my friend Will sent me this video. It’s amazing. Hope you’re well and get in touch.” He replied asking Harry to follow Mackenzie on Twitter to show his support. Mackenzie has just months to live, and her family are trying to raise £350,000 for treatment in Germany that is not available in the UK. The video was filmed during Mackenzie’s treatment session at Glasgow’s Yorkhill Hospital. Her mum spoke of the video, saying: “We made the video a couple of months ago and put it on YouTube. “Mackenzie often takes her iPad to chemotherapy treatment and loves to dance along to her favourite songs. It’s a good distraction although she never complains and just does what she has to do to get better. “We only realised about Harry Styles when Mackenzie’s iPad started going crazy last week with messages from One Direction fans who had seen his tweet. “Jason tweeted him back and asked him to follow Mackenzie on Twitter and he did. “It was great because it gave her such a boost. “She’s been a bit down because she has been having treatment in London to help shrink the tumours and couldn’t be near her sisters as she was radioactive. “But this gave her a big boost and she was back to her old self. “She’s a huge One Direction fan and went to see them in concert in Glasgow earlier this year so she was so excited and was very late getting to bed that night. But Zayn is actually her favourite.”
