9 years ago today I lost everything; my place, my belongings, MY HOME. And although St. Bernard Parish has rebulit, it will NEVER be the same as it was before Katrina. My friends are no longer down the street, instead they are states away. My family has gone back while I stay in Tennessee. I have tried going back but I cant adapt to what it has become. Not to mention I cant go through another devastation like that again. I dont know what my life would have been like had Katrina not happened but Im pretty happy with my life as it is now. Because of Katrina I have met some amazing ppl. Katrina has changed my life and made me look at things in a different manner. As I look at all these videos from the storm and seeing my home get washed away, I just think how thankful I am that I am here today. I live with daily struggles but if I can survive a HUGE loss from Katrina then I can survive anything. I went to highschool with the girl who sings in this video. She is an amazing person inside and out. Her song in this video shows what its all about. Thank you Ashley Neff Fry. Your voice isnt only amazing but speaks to ppl, and speaks for them also.
