A 16 year old male was assaulted and stabbed after visiting a takeaway in Cheetham Hill shortly after midnight on Saturday night. The male had been out late, shopping with his family when he headed to Jimmys on Cheetham Hill Road at around 12.30pm. A car pulled up outside the the takeaway where a male on board called over to the victim asking for his mobile phone. The male refused to hand it over and 4 or 5 white males, aged around 19 or 20 years old, got out of the car causing him to run off towards Beckenham Road where he was chased and knocked to the floor. The victim was repeatedly punched and kicked before one of the offenders stabbed him in the back. They then got back into the car and left the scene. The offenders did not search his pockets nor did they steal anything from him. The male was able to walk home where he raised the alarm. An ambulance took him to hospital where he was treated for his injuries. He received stitches to his back for the stab wound which was not life threatening. He also suffered a facial fracture and some bruising and swelling. Did you see anything? Call us on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, free and anonymously on 0800 555 111.
